Nathacha Appanah
Nathacha Appanah was born in Mauritius. She completed her studies in journalism and publishing in Lyon and worked in print and radio media. Her published works include: Les Rochers de Poudre d’Or (2003, RFO Book Prize), Blue Bay Palace (2004), and Le Dernier Frère (2007, Fnac Novel Prize, L’Express Readers' Prize). In 2016, her novel Tropique de la violence won the Femina des Lycéens Prize, the Patrimoine Prize, the France Télévisions Prize, and the Prix du roman métis des lecteurs. Her novel Le ciel par-dessus le toit (2019) was shortlisted for the Prix Goncourt, while Rien ne t’appartient (2021) won the Booksellers' Prize of Nancy – Le Point.
