"...'Apenanti' is a book brimming with life, thoughts, colours and emotions. The references and reflections on nature, the environment and ecology are clear. At the same time, it makes you smile from the very first page; it reminds you of your first love, your childhood (who said that children’s books are only for young readers, eh?). .."
– Magda Zindrou, Every Day Parents"...The two stories of the little beetle teach us that it is the effort that counts, not the result! Melios never stops trying to achieve his goal, and that is why he succeeds in the end..."
– Mama's 'n' Papa's Blog"...through Melios’s adventure, young children learn above all that we must never give up on anything in life at the first sign of failure. To reach our desired goal, we must try, make an effort, be patient and arm ourselves with optimism.
– Giota Fotou, The Magical World of Children’s BooksThodoris Papaioannou speaks in the first person about his first steps in writing.
– Diastixo.grInterview with Thodoris Papaioannou by Sofia Politou-Ververi of Nakas Bookshops, on the occasion of his book ‘Apenanti’ being nominated for the 2016 State Children’s Book Awards.
– Selides Newspaper"...The success of Apenanti lies in the fact that it did not get carried away by the logic of the formula. It did not follow in the highly successful footsteps of its big brother; it did not attempt to take the caliph’s place. It chose a different approach, instilling in young readers an awareness of environmental concerns and a belief in ceaseless effort. And, of course, in love, which – let’s not kid ourselves – conquers all – at least in fairy tales."
– Eleni Georgostathi"...Apenanti is a colourful book full of beautiful emotions and lessons. But what stays with you most of all is that wonderful journey that compels all living creatures to keep trying until they reach their destination."
