‘The Ships That Carried the Imagination’ have been selected and are featured on the international White Ravens list.  The White Raven label is awarded annually by the International Youth Library in Munich to books that deserve international attention due to the global themes they address or because of their exceptional and pioneering visual and literary approach.The committee’s reasoning: “People have always travelled the world by ship. Many – even some of the mythical ones – were built to fulfil desires and longings, anxieties and ambitions, hopes and delusions. They undertook adventurous voyages on the open sea, leading their passengers to their dark fate, to forgotten ports or to utopian destinations that promised prosperity.
