Literary Translation Award to Achilleas Kyriakidis

Achilleas Kyriakidis was honoured with the Spanish-Language Literature Translation Award for his translation of the book *The Sound of Things Falling* by Juan Gabriel Vásquez.  The awards, which recognise translations of novels, short stories, poetry and plays published in 2014 were presented on the evening of Wednesday 30 September at a special ceremony at the Hellenic-American Union, to mark International Translation Day. The 2015 Literary Translation Awards were presented by the Hellenic-American Union, the Goethe-Institut Athen, the Instituto Cervantes de Atenas and the Danish Institute in Athens. Other nominees in the same category were: Vasilis Laliotis, for the book: The Works and Nights of Alejandra Pizarnik (Bibliotheque) and Dimitra Stavridou, for the book: Death and His Friend by Pedro Antonio de Alarcón (Roés).
