The Poems 1951–1985

-
The selection of poems had been made by Athos Dimoulas in 1981, as soon as he fell ill ― intervening strictly, as he notes in his papers, mainly in his first six collections. He delayed the publication, however, in the hope of completing a few more poems, so as to add to the few included at the end of this volume, with the title he had already decided upon: ‘An Intention in Chaos’. It is my sole responsibility to keep the promise he asked of me in his final days: to see to the publication of his poems. So it was done, and I did not add to the anguish of one of his verses: ‘Who will become the keeper and guardian of his attention…’ From Kiki Dimoula’s note on the publication.
