The work was presented by the great French poet at the beginning of the twentieth century and this is the first time it has been translated into Greek. The translation was done by Matoula Zoubouli, whilst the poetic rendering, as well as the introductory essay, the commentaries and the notes, are by E.N. Moschos. As an appendix, a highly significant autobiographical text by Clodelle entitled ‘My Return to God’ is included, which interprets and contextualises, in the best possible way, many key points of his Odes.

Paul Claudel
Paul Claudel was born in 1868 in Villeneuve-sur-Fère (Aisne) and died in 1955 in Paris. Diplomat, playwright and essayist. In 1946 he was elected a member of the French Academy. His work is imbued with Catholicism. His works include: "Connaissance de L'Est", "Poèmes de guerre (1914–1916)", "Le soulier de satin", "L'annonce faite à Marie".
