Paul Claudel
AuthorPaul Claudel was born in 1868 in Villeneuve-sur-Fère (Aisne) and died in 1955 in Paris. Diplomat, playwright and essayist. In 1946 he was elected a member of the French Academy. His work is imbued with Catholicism. His works include: "Connaissance de L'Est", "Poèmes de guerre (1914–1916)", "Le soulier de satin", "L'annonce faite à Marie".
