It was within whispering distance.
And so he thought he could say it all.
Without being heard
by those who, of course, ought not to learn
the secret prematurely.
But the hushed words, precisely because they are so carefully guarded
and spoken with bodies close together,
arouse great curiosity
about all that is said in this way.
That is why, spoken in a whisper, whatever is said
stirs the imagination even more.
Speak loudly, those of you who would like
certain things not to be seen, and yet they are heard.
