Paddy Donnelly

Paddy Donnelly is an Irish author and illustrator living in Belgium who has illustrated many children’s books. His work is internationally recognised and he has been nominated for the World Illustration Awards as well as the Irish KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards.
His first book as both author and illustrator is the award-winning *The Disappearing Lake* (Ikaros 2021, trans. Antonis Papatheodoulou).
Ikaros Publications has also released his book *The Last Seaweed Pie* (text: Wenda Shurety) [2023, trans. Manos Bonanos], and *Hom – First Friend, the Last of His Kind* (text: Jeanne Willis) [2021, trans. Marilena Panourgia]. Paddy grew up on the beautiful northern coast of Ireland, listening to stories about giants, magical creatures and shape-shifting animals. All of this made him love nature, animals, the sea and stories.

Wenda Shurety

Wenda Shurety was born in London and grew up in Norfolk, UK. She is a former research scientist and now an award-winning children’s author. She loves writing stories from the heart about nature, diversity and the magical world of imagination. She lives in Brisbane, Australia, with her husband, her daughter and their three pets.
