Irene Solà
AuthorIrene Solà was born in Catalonia in 1990. She is a prose writer, poet and artist.
Her poems and short films have been exhibited at the Whitechapel Gallery in London, as well as in Barcelona, Santander and Girona.
Her book *I Sing and the Mountain Dances* (trans. Maria Palaiologou, Ikaros, 2022), the first to be published in Greek, has won four literary awards, including the 2020 European Prize for Literature, and has been translated into more than twenty languages. The book was adapted for the stage in 2021 in Catalonia. Solà writes regularly for the newspaper La Vanguardia. She has participated as a visiting writer at the Alan Cheuse International Writers Centre at George Mason University in Virginia and in the Writers Art Omi-Ledig House programme in New York.
