Daniele Mencarelli
AuthorDaniele Mencarelli was born in Rome in 1974. He is a poet and writer. He writes regularly for major Italian newspapers and magazines. He made his debut in the world of poetry in 1997 and is considered one of the leading poets of his generation. In 2018, he published his first novel, *La casa degli sguardi* (winner of the Volponi Prize, the Severino Cesari Prize and the John Fante Prize for a debut author), which was a great success in Italy and was recently adapted into a film. This was followed in 2019 by the poetry collection Tempo circolare, whilst 2020 saw the publication of the much-discussed Zetitei sotiria (2020 Strega Giovani Prize), which is set to be translated into 15 languages. In 2021, Sempre tornare (Flaiano Prize) was published, completing his informal autobiographical trilogy. In 2023 and 2024, his novels Fame d’aria and Brucia l’origine were published respectively.
