Ted Chiang

Author

Ted Chiang was born in Port Jefferson, New York, in 1967. He is considered one of the most important contemporary science fiction writers.
He studied Computer Science at Brown University and works as a technical writer in the software industry in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington.
His short stories have won the most prestigious science fiction awards: including four Hugo Awards, four Nebula Awards, six Locus Awards and the British Science Fiction Association Award.
His short story collection *Stories of Your Life* (Kedros, 2016) has been translated into twenty-one languages, and the eponymous story from the book was adapted for the cinema under the title *Arrival*, directed by Denis Villeneuve.
Exhalation (Ikaros, 2021), his second collection of short stories, was selected in 2019 by the New York Times as one of the ten best books of the year. To date, it has been translated into more than seventeen languages.
