Tara Westover
AuthorTara Westover was born in Idaho in 1986. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 2008 and was subsequently awarded a Gates Scholarship at the University of Cambridge. In 2009 she completed her master’s degree at Trinity College, Cambridge, and in 2010 she was a visiting scholar at Harvard University. She returned to Cambridge, where she obtained a PhD in History in 2014. She lives in London.
The Educated is her first book, which was acclaimed by readers and critics alike and has been translated into 22 languages. It was voted Best Memoir at the 2018 Goodreads Awards and featured on the New York Times’ list of the 10 best books of 2018. It is considered one of the most important books of the year according to the BBC, the Daily Express, Library Journal and Entertainment Weekly.
