Iida Turpeinen

Iida Turpeinen was born in 1987 in Helsinki. As a writer, she draws inspiration from the literary potential of scientific research and the strange events in the history of science. In 2014, she won the J. H. Erkko Young Writers’ Competition for short stories exploring the relationship between humans and nature. Her first novel, Living Beings, which won the Helsingin Sanomat Prize and was shortlisted for the Finlandia and Torch-Bearer Prizes, has received rave reviews and is being translated into more than 20 languages.
