George Syrmas

Giorgos Syrmas was born in 1981 in Athens. After completing his academic education in Oriental Studies, Ottoman History and the Turkish Language at the Universities of Macedonia, Crete and Istanbul respectively, he studied at the ‘Archi’ Higher School of Dramatic Arts. As an actor, he has appeared in productions at the National Theatre, the Art Theatre, the Onassis Cultural Centre, the Athens Festival and elsewhere. He has completed postgraduate studies in Theatre Translation and Creative Writing (University of Athens). He translates works of Turkish drama. REC is his first novel.
