Nikos Politis
AuthorHe was born in Athens and was the son of the director and critic Fotis Politis and Ioulia Chrysi. On his father’s side, he came from a family of scholars and academics, as he was the grandson of Nikolaos Politis, a folklorist and academic, and the nephew of Linos Politis, a philologist and academic.
He published numerous collections of poetry as well as prose. In 1965, he was awarded the Second State Prize for Prose for his novel *External Monologue*. He was a long-standing columnist for the newspaper *Kathimerini*.
