Lena Kallergi
AuthorLena Kallergi was born in Athens. She studied biology in Patras, linguistics (MA, PhD) in Lancaster, England, and translation in Athens.
She has published the poetry collections Gardens in the Sand (Gavriilidis, 2010 – ‘Maria Polydouri’ Prize) and One Ship to Spare (Gavriilidis, 2016 – Poets’ Circle Prize). She has contributed to the collaborative, experimental poetry collections Group From Poetry (Gavriilidis, 2010) and Poetry Group II: In Favour of Dreaming (Gavriilidis, 2012). Her poems, short stories, translations and essays have appeared in magazines and anthologies in Greece and other countries. She has translated, among other works, poems by Giacomo Leopardi (The Night Remains, Gavriilidis, 2013) and poems by the English Romantic poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Wordsworth and John Keats (Kedros, 2021).
