Kim Hye-Jin
AuthorKim Hye-Jin was born in the city of Daegu, South Korea, in 1983. In 2012, she made her debut with the short story ‘Chicken Run’, which won the Dong-A Ilbo’s annual literary competition for new writers. In 2013, she won the JoongAng Ilbo Literary Award for her novel *Joongang Station*. My Daughter (Ikaros, 2023) was published in South Korea in 2017, became a bestseller and has so far been translated into more than fourteen languages. The book was honoured in 2018 with the Literary Prize in memory of the poet Shin Dong-yup. In 2020, the author won the DeSan Literary Award for her novel Worker No. 9 and, in 2021, the New Writer Award. Kim Hye-Jin lives in Seoul, South Korea.
