E.M. Forster
AuthorEdward Morgan Forster is considered one of the great modern British writers. He was born in London in 1879 and graduated from King’s College, Cambridge, in 1897. In addition to his five famous novels, including ‘Howards End’ (1910), Forster published a further 19 works: two biographies, two books based on his experiences in Alexandria and during the First World War, a screenplay and the libretto for the opera Billy Budd. Two of his novels were inspired by Italy: *Where Angels Fear to Tread* (1905) and *A Room with a View* (1908). "A Passage to India" (1924) sold a million copies. His two collections of short stories are titled "Heavenly Collection" (1911) and "Eternal Moment" (1928). His essays include: "Views on the Novel" (1927), "The Harvest of Abinger" (1936) and "Two Cheers for Democracy" (1951). He died in June 1970.
